I would suspect you may have a right or left CV joint binding on either front drive axle.
I would have the truck put on a hoist and the axle joints checked for wear. I believe you will find your answer there.
Good luck.

The 4x4 light is not showing on the dash but if feels like it is engaged

Depends on brand etc but the bulb out might cause this--I often test on road by putting into 4x4 on slippery surface (low speed and no traffic) and hitting the gas--if 4x4 locked in all four wheels will move forward, if not rear will try to dove tail (move rear left or right.)

Need to remove oil pan on 1987 chevy s10 2.8l 4x4 four speed

in order to get the oil pan off of a 4 w/d model the front axle assy must be removed first then oil pan removal is straight forward after that. cv axles can be left in just need to take out the 6 bolts on each one drain oil out remove the cable engagement on the bottom wire plug and 4 mounting bolts. rotate assy to remove it. the other way is to remove the engine. take your pick.

I have a 2002 Liberty 4x4 and today when I tried to put it in four wheel I drove forward afterwards, but if you try to turn the car acts like it will not go at all.

That is normal for four wheel drive vehicles on hard non slip ground. The front wheels when four wheel drive is engaged will act like a brake if they are turned almost all the way to the left or right. When the two wheel drive is disengaged it will drive normally again.

Car pops or wheel hops when turning left or right

Yes sounds like 4wd problem. To check put it in 4wd and see if it acts the same. Then check the autolock front hud's (common problem).
