Hello. Crawl under the rear of your jeep and check out the wiring harness. Lots of times these harnesses get chopped into by folks installing trailer lights. A 12 volt test liight is used to check circuits and components while electrical current is flowing through them. It is used for both voltage and ground tests. To use a 12 volt test light, connect the cround clip to a good ground and probe whereever necessary with the pick by piercing the outer insulation and touching the wire. The rest light will illuminate when voltage is detected. This does not necessarily mean that 12 volts is present, only that some voltage is present.

If you find a poor ground or a void in the hot wire repair it. If it is the ground, run a new ground wire or clean up the area where the existing ground is attached to the frame.

If this does not solve the problem check the brake light switch. The brake light switch is under the topo of the brake pedal arm, under the dash.

Regards, Joe

My brake lights and flashers Don't work. The fuse is good The running work and turn signals Changed the brake light switch And still nothing

Don't know the make and model of your car but it's possible to be your flasher module malfunctioning. If you use your flashers a lot this could cause a inoperative flasher and brake light from operating.

Ford f550 brake lights and tail lights, only the passenger side works, driver side doesn't from cab back. The running lights work but no turn, no brake light.

Trace the wiring harness and pull apart the multi plugs to check for corrosion. Check the ground wires have a good clean ground, clean to metal and grease afterwards. Do the hazard flashers work all corners? If not check the flasher unit.

1995 GMC Jimmy brake lights not working

Brake lights run through the hazzard switch. There are known problems with this, and the multifunction switch. You may need to buy a new hazzard switch and OR the multifunction switch. Before you do that, check the pigtail that goes into the brake switch up by the fender, make sure it's not shorting out up there. Happened to me!

1995 Ford f250 brake lights don't work ad neither do the hazard flashers. I replaced the flasher node and the turn signals began to work but still no brake lights.

You may have a bad signal switch..Your brake lights run through the signal switch..Try hitting the brakes and move the switch around and see if your brake lights come on intermittently..

Brake lights quit working on the driver and passenger sides but the top middle lighgt works.running light and back up lights work no blowns fuses good bulbs. very puzzeling!

I recently had this problem,it appears to be in the emergency flasher button.at first no brake lights but center one worked. the emergency button was stuck and hard to move but once i got it loose i had all brake lights, so thinking my problem was solved i checked all lights and then found i had no signal lights, i went bach to the flasher button because it was still very hard to move and pressed down further and all lights work now so i think this will cure most turn and brake signal problems. the flasher button is rarely used and collects dust so it starts to stick and when you dust your dash or bump the button it will stick between contacts and the lights stop working. hope this helps!!

Rear brake lights stopped working

Check your fuses of course, you probably did.Listen your not going to believe this, the wire at the brake light switch can be bad.sometines the wire can break inside the vinyl cover just a milameter.use a test light for presence of voltage at the switch and check a few inches back to see it voltage is present. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VOLTAGE AT THE SWITCH!
