Where is the oil drain plug on a 2000 explorer 4.0 6 cyl

That is going to be on the bottom of the oil pan itself. Might be covered up with grease and dirt but it is there.

Locatte transmission drain plug 2002 xls EXPLORER

Most of the explorers don't have a drain plug, you have to remove the oil pan to drain the fluid, messy and a pain but for some stupid reason they decided not to put a drain plug in them.

Where is the transmission drain plug on a 98 ford explorer

Hi Ethans: There is no drain plug in the automatic transmission pan, you will have to drop the pan with transmission fluid in it, if you want to change the filter or other componentns.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Where is the transfer case located, to drain and refill transmission fluid, on a 1993 Ford Explorer 4X4?

It is located under the truck, it is attached to the back side of the transmission, the rear drive shaft goesinto it. to drain it there is a plug on the bottom end of it, usually above the skid plate. to refill it there is another plug above the drain and to the right.

How do i check tranmision fluid on a 2004 ford exployer xlt. It has no dipstick to check level or to add fluid.

On transmission pan drain plug will have a small hex screw in the center of drain plug, with engine running and in park remove little center screw, if fluid comes out, transmission level is good, of no fluid come out, will have to pump fluid in that same little plug hole, till fluid starts to come out.

I need change the automatic transmission fluid Explorer 2002 E.B.

There IS a transmission drain plug on the 2002 Ford Explorer! It is, however, difficult to get the fluid back in as there IS NO dipstick (tube) to refill it. I installed the pan bolts far enough to hold the pan up (level) and then stuck a hose (attached to a funnel at top of engine compartment) through the opening between the pan and the bottom of the transmission. I was able to put five quarts in that way - no more as it will overflow (trust me). You can check other sites on how to check to see if that's enough and how to add more as needed. That's not simple either. Great idea Ford Motor Company (sarcasm) !!!!!!

It does not have a drain plug. You have to loosen the bolts that hold the drain pan and let the fluid drain out that way.
