I found the fuel filter under the driver side OK. But since I jacked up the car and crawled underneath to change the filter I nearly drowned myself with fuel while removing the filter, Yes I relieved the fuel pressure but still plenty of fuel left to drain down. It is difficult to remove from the quick disconnect on the far side of the filter. Your face is in a perfect spot to get showered.

Were is the fuel filter on a pontiac grand prix v6 located

The fuel filter on this vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump module. It's supposed to be a lifetime filter, and most of the time they are, but if it should ever clog then the entire fuel pump module has to be replaced.

Alot of gas in the choke/air filter

You may have a ruptured diafram in the fuel pressure regulator which is putting unmetered fuel in the vacuum/intake system. It is located underneath the upper plenum. If you remove the vacuum hose going to it and fuel comes out, it is defective. You can find the hose diagram for the car on the hood or radiator core support to know which hose it is.

Your fuel pump may have gone bad. You can remove the air filter housing and spray some carb cleaner into it while somebody cranks the engine. If it starts, you know it has a fuel problem.
