Question about 2002 Land Rover Freelander
The problem could either be the latch mechanism itself, or the ear for the rod coming from the lift handle has broken. remove the door panel with the window up and look inside with a flash light. make sure everything is moving. you will probably see that the handle is not moving the rod. simply, replace whats broken. if all the rods are in place and everything is moving then replace the latch mechanism. something has worn internally.
