SOURCE: driver side door lock
Pull the door panel & replace the electronic lock solenoid.
Not easy, but this is what you need to do.
SOURCE: door locks
behind the lock cyl. is a snap ring if you shine a mirror up at it you will see it p.s you would want to put a rag down in the door covering up the gap when you pull the snap ring out it will fall down toward that gap if it falls in that gap it is hard to get out

You will probably need to replace the power door lock actuator.
Here's a link to one similar to yours.

SOURCE: lock barrell on the drivers side is broken
if its central locking then you will have to remove the door panel to get to the cable ,the handle is removed without removing the door panel on older cars without central door locking .To remove the handle their is a screw on the door shut level with the handle ,once screw is removed you can pull handle outwards and then backwards to clear away from the door .Couldnt be simpler
SOURCE: Drivers side door lock barrel fell out???
This is a common fault on A4 VAG cars (Mk 4 Golfs, Skoda Octavias, Seat Leon, Beetle, Audi TT , Audi A3) you will need to remove the door card from the inside. Repair kits are available so it may be possible to repair the lock barrel but for the effort htat is required to remove the door card I would replace the lock barrel rather than repair it.
