Intructions on how to install the belt
we couldnt figure out how to put it on we got the belt and everything but dont know the steps to put it on.
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 diesel
if you could please give instructions.
Make sure you know how the belt goes on so you don't second guess yourself when you get the old one off. Find the tensioner pulley which is a pulley that is not running anything. Either in the pulley or on the tension arm the pulley is bolted to you will see a square hole that is the size of a 1/2" drive socket wrench. Get a 1/2" socket/breaker bar and put the square peg in the hole and then pulling the wrench one way or the other will release the tension on the belt so you can remove it. Then put the new belt on in the same way the old one came off and release the tension to get the belt over the tensioner, then release the wrench and you are good to go.
Good Luck
Your belt routing diagram should be located upon the top of the radiator upper support. It will be a black lable with a white routing scheme printed upon it.
