My serpentine belt broke, because the pulley where my ac is broke. There is a small metal guard on the outside of the pulley that went bad first, then the whole pulley itself went bad.

COULD I GET A DIAGRAM OF THE ROUTING OF TRANSMISSION (DRIVE BELT. HAVING PROBLEM GETTING BELT ON THE ONE PULLEY DUE TO A METAL BELT GUARD. THANKS

Take a look under the hood for a routing diagram, they are often there somewhere. One thing to keep in mind for a serpentine type belt. If the pulley is grooved, the grooved side of the belt goes there, if the pulley is smooth, the back un-grooved side goes there. I hope this helps.

I have a 1989 jeep wrangler it does not have a serpentine belt but rather 3 belts i need a diagram showing how those belts are suposed to be routed

Check with Autozone and discuss your problem. They know what they are talking about and have always come up with the right parts or belts for me. I used to be a mechanic in my youth and I never go anywhere else.........

95 Grand Caravan se. Serpentine belt keeps coming off.

When did this first begin to happen? Changed belt or installed different pulley? Chased same problem. Solved it by shimming the idler pulley out so that belt ran in the middle of the pulley. Check the wear marks on the pulleys to see if the belts are running to the outside.

Replaced alternator on 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager with a 3.3 engine and AC. Within less than a hundred miles, the serpentine belt broke. Replaced the serpentine belt and now when I turn the car on and run...

The tensioner is the only thing that will make a clicking sound, caused by the spring in it. But this doesn't mean that it is bad. To check pullies , remove the belt and turn them. they should spin freely. Turn them slowly also, if you feel any roughness then they are worn out. Do this to everything the belt touches, Alternator, a/c , power steering. Also the pullies should not wobble.

Serpentine belt slips off idler pulley

The A/C pully is supposed to spin freely until the AC is activated to run.. The cranshaft pully does not. Replace the tensioner pully. The belt has to fit in between the grooves on the pullys.

A/c mount broke off the actual compressor, no way to attach to engine mount, has a serpentine belt , can i get a belt shorter that will bypass the ac.

You can buy an A/C bypass pulley from an O'reilly auto or anyone that supplies Dorman parts. the pulleys are cheap and allow you to mount things and use the stock serp belt. You will have no AC ,though. The kit is designed with the intent of eliminaing the compressor, which is very expensive to replace.
