I have a 2000 chevy 1500 4x4. When I take

I have a 2000 chevy 1500 4x4. When I take off,there is a sliping pop in the rear. Mechanic thinks that shocks and springs may fix. Not sure

If it is only when taking off it could very well be your rear differential. Have gear oil level and gears checked

It uses r-134a Freon and the capacity will depend on if you have rear a/c. There should be a label under the hood that shows a/c capacity that will give you an exact amount but should be around 2 lbs. for just front air and about 2.8 lbs. for front and rear.

It may not be all your transmission it may be your rear end going out with that many miles alot of stuff on it will be needing a checkup.

Trany slips in second and 3rd and is automatic what do you think is wrong

I was told by a tranny mechanic that it was a problem with the transfer case, some kind of chain is sliping, I think this sounds weird, but our explorer is only slipping between 2nd and 3rd, anyone out there thinks we are getting duped, as we are thinking?

Clutch sliping

Probably Needs a replacement clutch. You could check the slave lever adjustment is ok but thats probably wishfull thinking.

Hi our 2000 chevy silverado 4wd 8cy truck was doing the same thing the mechanic checked it out and said it was ther rear end gears they need replacing will cost 1200.00 bucks and take 2 days.Truck will not move at all now gears broken
