Check and replace front brakes > They wont look tooo worn but they are trust me ! just went through same ordeal 5 days ago . Also while your at it check your pistons on your calipers for free movement i had to replace both due to frozen pistons ! When done disconnect negative battery terminal for a few min. re connect start and drive for a few miles, lights should still be on, stop turn off ignition for a min. start car again and both lights should be off ! let me know,

Toyota 2001, 4-runner, 158k...the check engine,VSC/TRAC, and TRAC OFF warning lights came on at the same time and have stayed on...what could be the problem?

VSC lights always go on during a "Check engine" period so just get the engine fault code and DIY or go to a TRUSTED mechanic (or someone you trust goes to).It is likely an emissions problem.

03 toyota 4 runner vsc trac and trac off light are on, what´s the problem with?

VSC stands for vehicle stability control and trac is traction control they are incorporated into the ABS system all receive signals from the wheel sensors you must use a digital ohms meter to find the one reading different and replace it in some cases you might find bad connections at the plugs.in any case your brakes will work fine you just wont have ABS braking or traction control

2001 Toyota 4 Runner has Trac off vsc trac and check engine light on what can cause this

When the computer detects certain faults it will set the check engine light on along with the other lights you've explained. I've seen this on many toyota SUV's. Usually the codes set are oxygen sensor related. There really is no relation between the oxygen sensors and the traction control system but for some reason it disables it and sets the warning lights on. Have the computer scanned for codes at a shop or at a parts store such as autozone for free.

HOW TO RESET TRAC OFF AND VSC INDICATOR FOR 4 RUNNER 2004

VSC and trac off, will generally be reset with a readout tool plugged in under dash, knee level drivers side.
When these lighst come on together it is often a sign of improper air fuel mixture, sometimes as a result of running extremely low on fuel or leaving a gas cap loose.
It may also be a symptom of a clogged O2 sensor in one of 3 locations. When resetting the LEDs a readout will analise the cause.

Toyota 2001 4 runner vsc lights on and trac off.also check engine light on.what is the problem?

Those lights always come on whenever the check engine light is on.It could be from the gas cap not being tight enough or an air hose in the engine compartment coming loose. I recommend bringing your vehicle to someone that can read the codes and reset the lights for you. The codes will narrow down what the problem really is.
