Sons projects - Car doesnt crank over without a boost
Sons project - Car doesnt crank over without a boost. Even after a good drive, battery still doesnt have power to turn over engine. Alternator or Relay ?
Re: Sons projects - Car doesnt crank over without a boost
Have the battery charged andtested first. once a good power source is in there, take a volt meter and test your battery terminals for at least 13.5 volts. if not replace the alternator.

Try getting a friend to boost start your battery with his vehicle and see if your car will crank. If your car cranks over - you have a faulty battery.
Check your battery leads, particularly the black earth lead where it connects to the engine/bodywork.
It's worth pointing out that a failed battery will charge up to a certain extent - however there isn't sufficient power in that battery to crank the engine even though all your dashboard lights are illuminated. Get somebody to try boost-starting your battery first.
If you're sure that your battery is ok (or if connected to another vehicle): Put your ignition key in and turn it on/off a few times. Leave it in the 'on' position for 2-3 minutes. Give the system time to re-recognise the key
If it will crank and start when boosted, then I would have the battery tested. Even though it is fairly new, they can be defectively manufactured and end up getting bad internal plates. If the battery tests good, then the starter motor may be drawing too much current.
check your battery. i had the same problem two months ago. i thought it was the alternator or starter , but the shop said i my battery wouldn't keep a charge.
It sounds like the battery don't have the cranking amps needed to turn the engine over fast enough. Even though it is starting, soon it will drain more and won't start.
It could still be the battery, if it has a weak cell and depending on how weak it is, it may or may not show up on the test. Get a battery with a higher cold cranking amps than the one you have now. If there is no other problem that should cure it.
Sounds like you had a weak battery, and now it's a dead battery. Go get you're charging system checked. Auto Zone does if for free. Could be an alternator too but it most likely your battery. And they'll put in your new battery for ya too. FREE!
The computer detected a fault. You SHOULD NOT drive it around with that blinking, or you will regret it. Take it to the dealership immediately and have them pull the code.
