Check your auxillary fan. once the a/c is turned on, the fan should kick on, if not, check your fuses and relays. with the key off try to spin the fan and see if they turn. if not replace the fans.

My heat gauge goes up to signal that the car overheats then all of a sudden drops back to normal,I don't see any signs of the car overheating when I open the bonnet, What could this be?

Watch the engine idle long enough for the coolant heat make the radiator cooling fan cycle on and off at least twice. This way you know the cooking fan circuit functions.
Other test is turn your air con switch on, then the cooling fan should turn on with the air con.
One more is when the overheat light comes on, turn on your air con to make the cooling fan run.
Last i want to say is find the coolant temp sensor fan swith , usually on the radiator, and inspect the connection for loose, faulty, good, bad.

The coolant fans and radiator fans are new replaced and both fans don't work when car is turn on and car overheats on the Lexus es300.

The air con fan comes on when the air con is engaged, the engine fan comes on only when the engine reaches operation temp. controlled by a temp. switch. on the block or radiator .

You may have freon in system but compressor won't engage unless it's full under pressure. By jumping the the relay you're doing damage to compressor by running on low pressure. Have system evacuated and recharged to proper amount of freon - usually 4 lbs of freon

Did you flush out the heater core when you did the radiator.Im not sure how the air con could overheat your engine unless the pump was creating excessive drag.Is the heater tap and controls for the heater assembly working correctly?were the two heater hoses refitted correctly.have you checked that coolant is flowing freely through out the water system
