1997 Audi A8 check ing. light is on code PO730 Incorect Gear Ratio. What is it? How can I fix It?

This is going to need to go to a transmission shop. i know no one likes to hear that but unless youre very experienced i recomend not attempting this as to not get in over your head and being charged more by someone. it has to do with the transaxles shifting patterns. cheers

OBD CODE P0730 GEAR RATIO INCORRECT

have the same code on my 2002 jetta with 1.8t. pulled the tranny apart on the car from the side tranny cover and found only one set of really burnt up clutches. very easy to change. i also had that po730 code. car felt like wouldn't shift into 3rd 4th 5th. better than spending $2000 for a used tranny!!
