How do I replace the oil pressure sensor on my 1997 Cadillac Eldorado?

Remove the electrical connector from the sensor. Slide the proper oil sender socket over the sensor and unscrew. Reverse to install. If you don't have the right socket, rent it from an auto parts store.

How do I get to the backup lights to replace them? Does the clear cover next to my license plate just pop off? I have a 1988 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, 2 door. Thanks for any help.

No u have to open your trunk, when u open it look down just behind the light u should see what looks like three or four big plastic wing nuts unscrew these and the whole light assembly will pull out so be careful not to drop it once u get this off the light to be changed should be on the back of the light assembly gently twist the bulb holder piece Counter Clock wise it should come out easy, pull old bulb out replace with new one ,turn the bulb holder clock wise to put back in,and reverse the steps putting the light assembly back just remember not to tighten the black wing nuts in the trunk to tight

How to replace bulb in back up lights?

Open the trunk and carefully pull off the trunk lid carpet liner by working at each black push-pin. They will be tight, so confine your pulling to as close to each as possible. Using a deepwell 10mm socket, remove the 11 (?) nut washers on the studs holding the license plate and lamp assembly onto the trunk lid. Carefully remove the entire license plate/lamp assembly. You can remove the sockets and harness if desired.

You will need to replace ALL the bulbs - why go through this again ?? You'll need 4 each #194 (tag/running lights), 4 each #3457, and 2 each 2357.

The OEM bulbs are #3057 and #1157, but the new numbers are slightly brighter. Don't worry about the backup lamp bulbs being dual-filament: the wedge base will always align the correct filaments in the socket.

Now place a dab of flexible duct seal (hardware store) around each stud base. Carefully push the assembly back into place, and using an assistant, check the operation of all circuits. OK ?? replace all the nut washers, snugging them up in a center to outside sequence to spread the loads - don't tighten each one all the way the first time - work around and around 3 times.

If you still have a bulb out or dim bulbs, then check the wire harness where it exits the left trunk hinge rail and also the harness ground at the sheet metal at the left fenderwell.

Reverse lights fuse blew

hi
check the wire because if the fuse keep blowing there's a wire somewhere on the car that has contact with the frame so everytime you put your car on reverse the 12V wire shortcut on the frame so the fuse blow check all your positive wire and your bulb as well
Good luck

My reverse/back up lights do not work on my 1994 cadillac eldorado. what can be the problem? fuse is good, bulbs are new.

there are switches on the transmission that tell it when reverse is selected.

it should be on the top side of the transmission under the hood

make sure they are connected and not frayed also check them for corrosion and apply grease or Vaseline to the connections .

1997 De Ville Reverse lights do not work

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
