Yes, you will need to swap everthing over to the new tank. The new tank will just have holes for the components

Gas gauge read fill went full up, and move back and forth went and half way

Very Very Very common in Buicks of many years and Models. Aside from pulling down the fuel tank and replacing the sending unit. We just go by the mileage and go from there. Its a major issue with no recall on it.

There is a float in the gas tank that is probably hung up.Try bouncing the car at the rear bumper, it might free the float up.

Why wont my 1989 buick lesabre wont start ?

Does it crank? Or there's no crank no start? If it cranks safely get under the vehicle and bang on the fuel tank while someone holds the key in the crank position with the vehicle in park. If it starts it is most likely the fuel pump.

I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre that have trouble that sounds like it is the starter but only happens when the gas is low in the tank

The fuel pump is weak. When you have full tank the extra weight of the gas helps the pump provide enough fuel pressure to run the engine. When gas is low the pump is too worn and weak to provide enough pressure. Replace the fuel pump.

How does the fuel lines come loose from the gas tank on a 1988 buick leSabre i need to replace the fuel pump

The fuel lines are located above the tank, if you lower the tank not to the ground but enough to get at you can tilt the gas tank so that you can unplug the lines and the wires. its tough. good luck

You're going to have to take the inner panel off to figure it out. If the seat won't go back far enough, you may have to remove it first.
