2005 bmx x5 battery drain

I went outside today and my 2005 bmw x5 wouldn't start at all. I had to manually open the door as the keyless entry built into my car key wouldn't work? I got a jump and everything started up fine, but unsure as to what may have drained the battery? Any suggestions? Thanks.

You need to check for any lighting left on overnight if not try to fully recharge your battery and perform a load test on it to see if it will hold the charge if so possible drainage off of interior lighting switches or alarm possible

I recently lost the keys to my 2005 BMW x5 and had a tow service open it up via the passenger front window. The lock switch will not work now. Is there a reset? I cannot activate a new key w/o it!

So more information is needed as a few things could be happening. Such as does the vehicle have keyless entry and a key fob, Also this vehicle may use what is called a master key which must be present when a new key is added. I am assuming you are trying to reprogram a new key and perhaps you are at the point of programming that requires locking or unlocking through the vehicle master (driver-door) switch. I posted a link to a couple ways to program a new key as more then one option exists for manual programming which is programming without a BMW scan tool. One other thing to check is the actual door that was opened, look closely at the latch and make sure it is not damaged and or a little lever may exist to disable the automatic lock unlock. If you see a little slot with a metal tab, that may need to be switched back to allow the lock to work. You can test this by using the key in the door to attempt to unlock it manually. http://www.programyourkeys.com/BMW_X5_Key_Remote_Control_Fob_Programming.html

Unlock drivers side door when key won't work

All BNW's have remote key openers built into key, so what doesn't work, the manual lock, or the remote key, or both. When you say you don't have keyless entry, on a BMW the remote is the key.

Both rear doors on 2005 x5 does not open neither from inside or outside even though the door knob goes up . what do I do ?

I have had this issue before when all parts seem to work. lay down in back seat and put a blanket over door panel where the latch holds the door shut and kick with your legs to force door loose. you still have to have someone hold the door handle in the open position. let me know if that helps

I have exactly the same problem with a 2002 X5. The passenger door handle has no resistance on it from either inside or outside and as such I cannot open the door. I am now wondering how to get the trim off to see what is bust inside. Anyone got any ideas??

Keyless entry stopped working on 05 cobalt now i have to unlock door with the key and when i do that the alarm goes off. Help

Lock all the doors from the inside (with all the doors closed), unlock your driver's door by manually lifting the lock, then press it back down after you are out - this will prevent the alarm from sounding when you use the key to unlock the door.
