How do you change the wipers? It looks like a nut on top, but it's not. I have new wipers to put on, but can't figure out how to get the old ones off, and I don't want to break them.

I think what you are describing as a nut is actually a cover concealing the nut. Look at it carefully, does there seem to be a tiny gap between it and the wiper arm? If it's a cap it should be able to be gently pried up.

You should not need to remove the nut best thing is go to where you bought the blades or any auto parts store and they will install them on for free, most of the time they snap in place and slide on to the wiper arm.

How to replace the windshiled wiper motor??

okay first you need to make sure thats your problem
check for power at the connector
you see the wiper motor bolted to the firewall unplug it and check for any power
if you have power the go ahead and take the 3 bolts out and it should be loose
it will not come out yet because u need to unhook it
its been years since i have had one apart so im not sure if there is a nut or a clip
you should be able to tilt it enough to see it. u need to remove it and be remember to not loose the nut or clip
you may need it for the new one
now if your new motor came with the small osolating arm then just put it in the way the old one came out
if not then u must use the old one.
take the nut off the center and pull it from the motor shaft. keeping in mind what direction it sits
some have 2 flat sides and you can put on backwards
put the new motor up close and have someone hold it for you if you can and hood the rod back up and put the motor in place and put ur bolts in
get them all in and hand tight and plug it in and test it before tightening down
thats it your done
hope this helps

I can't figure out how to change the rear wiper of our 2008 Hyundai Entourage. I've tried to get the old one off, and have also checked the owner's manual. It only shows directions for the front wipers.

hi thanks for reply if you are replacing the complete arm and its wiper blade ? then where the bottom of arm fits to w/motor drive spindle it is covered with a plastic cover which lifts and pulls off to reveal the nut and washer that secures arm to spindle ? the spindle is multi splined if you remove nut/washer with gentle pursuasion you can lift arm off splines ?by rocking the arm close to spindle however there is a wiper arm removal tool costs a couple of £s and is easy to use and pulls arm off splines no problem most auto shops sell them in uk or if you look on e bay at garage tools/equipment then you can get cheaper as i have bought two one to lend out to freinds and my own personal one they are good investment ! hope this helps

Wipers don't move  They were iced up and when I turned them on I think I stripped them ...In my old car there was a nut right on top t of the arm to tighten tehm back down.  I dont see one on...

The nut is hidden below a plastic cover, so just flip the cover. But in all probability, what you did by forcing the wiper to move, is disengage the wiper arms from the electric motor. Look on the engine bay, by the firewall for those arms. If you cant locate them, move the wiper back and forth, and look for it. The arm is very easy to snap back on.

How do you change the rear window wiper on a RX 330 2004

to change the rear wiper insert you just pull out the old one and insert the metal strips in the new one and reinsert. to replace the whole arm, pull off the cover at the rear of the wiper arm and remove the 14mm nut underneath

How to get the old wiper blade assembly off 87 S10 Blazer

With the pin style blades, if you look into the top of the blade at the point were the pin goes through, you will see what looks like a spring or a coil on its side. Use a small screwdriver and push down on that coil at the same time that you try to push the wiper off the pin. I have changed more of these than you can think of, and they are never easy, you have to get things in just the right possition before it will come all the way off. Once you do one the other will come off easier. One word of caution, don't let the wiper arm slip out of your hand and smack the windsheild, it can break it.

Wipers wont come on

THEY CALL IT YHE WIPER TRANMISSION. THE LINKAGE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE WIPER MOTOR FELL OFF BECAUSE THE NUT THAT KEEPS IT SECURED TO THE MOTOR LOOSENED & FELL OFF ALLOWING THE LINKAGE TO FALL OFF OF THE WIPER MOTOR.FIRST YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW NUT TO HOLD ON THE LINKAGE (IT MIGHT BE RIGHT UNDER THE WIPER MOTOR IF THERE WAS SOMEPLACE FOR IT TO FALL)REINSTALL THE LINKAGE, (IT ONLY FITS ONE WAY) PUT ON THE NEW NUT (TIGHTEN IT ENOUGH BUT MAKE SURE THE WIPERS CAN STILL ROTATE) AND YOU SET
