Make sure the clutch pedal mounting bolts and bushings are tight. Check the fluid level for the clutch
master.(same as brake master resevoir)If it is low check for leaks. No visable leaks, bleed the clutch
master. The master is located under the hood, to left
of brake master. Clean any grease dirt etc. from bleeder screw. With small dixie cup 1/2 full of brake
fluid,a piece of rubber hose about 6" long. Place one
end snugly over the bleeder screw, the other end into
the brake fluid.(submerged) Have someone push down on the clutch a couple of times, until there are no air bubbles in the cup. Have your helper hold the
clutch down, while you tighten the bleeder screw.
Hopa this helps.
Good luck

Cruise control also uses clutch switch. If you have already checked that switch, you'll need to look for any wiring harness issue in the area where you kick it.

Clutch pedal retainer for a 2004 saturn ion

Your clutch pedal attaches directly to the master cyclinder. There is a ball on the end that comes through the firewall. It's made of plastic check that.

98 jetta wolfsburg. Clip that hold cable to arm broke. When replacing the clip I had to jack up the clutch arm with a bottle jack to hook up the cable. The cable will not let the arm drop down where it...

It has a plastic Ratchet style gear at the pedal end of the cable that has to be released. This gear automatically adjust the clutch when the pedal is pressed. Never put a jack against a clutch arm. You will probably have to disengage the cable to reset the ratchet gear. Don't strip the teeth on the gear

I have a 03 Saturn Ion 5spd when shifting it doesn't want to go into gear sometimes and feels like it is meeting resistance what would this be?

Check your clutch throwout adjustment is correct.
It may be that the clutch is not releasing completely between gearshifts,
Check clutch hydraulics are not faulty, causing insufficient clutch throwout travel,
Check gearbox oil level is ok and of correct oil grade.

you have a clutch hydraulic problem. have the clutch master cylinder replaced and the linkage adjusted if neccessary. you will be money ahead to have them replace the slave cylinder at the same time.

Ion clutch

It sounds like a hydraulic cylinder. The clutch master cylinder is behind the pedal. The slave cylinder is on the engine/transmission. If it is a cable-driven clutch, Make sure it's connected properly.
