There are 2 engines used in your truck, the 4.7 V8 liter engine cost is $3000.00 plus $500.00 core. the 5.9 V8 liter is $1700.00 plus $500.00 core, labor is about 15 hours plus small parts, so u are looking at about a maxium of $5500.00 if you have the 4.7 V8. and $4000.00 for the 5.9 V8

To install and take it apart/timing replacements? for a dodge durango 2001 4.7 2 wheel drive

What leads you to think your timing chain needs to be replaced? In the 4.7 motor, the timing chain is designed to last the life of the engine, or at least 150K.

I have a 2001 4.7 liter v8 dodge durango, the cylinders went out last year. I found a 1999 5.9 liter v8 durango engine in good condition. Will this engine match up with my mounts allowing me to use my...

You'd have to replace the transmission as well if you want to run that particular engine. The 4.7L engine is a "mod" motor and the 5.9L is the good old cast iron V-8 design.

Looking for BCM for 2001 Dodge Durango - needs replacement

Your looking for the PCM? The computer module in the Durango that controls everything on the durango? If so, then the PCM is made for each Durango specifically. You cannot buy a used one or from a salvage yard. Each PCM is programmed with the VIN# from that Durango. So, any other PCM will not work. You have to go to a dealer and have them get a generic PCM (or autozone $240 if you trust them?) and it will cost with installation and reprogramming? $450.

Have a 2001 Dodge Durango. Temp is hot, coolant is cold. Replaced thermostat still running hot 2001 durango stuck in 4 wheel drive. 2 wheel drive blinks

If you havent already, leave the radiator cap off of your radiator while you start the vehicle. Be sure the engine is cold, you could get hurt if not because the coolant will build up pressure. If the cap is off, no pressure will build. Wait a while for the vehicle to heat up, look in the opening, and see if the coolant is flowing. If so, could be a bad fan, or gummed up radiator......if NOT your turbine on your water pump could be bad, OR, by chance, the thermostat is not working.
