I'm not exactly sure why you would need a diagram. All eight plugs are visible, Cylinder One location is clearly marked on the distributor cap, and the firing order is printed right on a sticker affixed to the fan shroud (or to the front clip mounting). The plug gap for YOUR car is also printed on the same sticker (it's usually .052 but yours may be different).
Two of the spark plugs on the passenger side are a little difficult to get to (the front and back ones). The front one can be reached with a LONG extension when you turn the wheel to the far right. The back one is guaranteed to remove the skin from your knuckles, and will probably require you to get a low profile ratchet to remove it.
I have begrudgingly done my own tune-ups on my Town Cars, and I like the results, but I bear the scars for my efforts :)
For 1991 Lincoln Town Car4.6 liter SOHC V-8 VIN "W" check Firing Order...
Make: LINCOLN Model: TOWN CAR - CARTIER Year: 1991 Engine: V8 - 4.6L - FI - - GAS Spark Plug Champion: Part Number RS14YC6 OE GAP .054" (Original Equipment Manufacturer and/or Original Equipment Equivalent)
Hope help with this (remember rated this post) Good luck.
my Haynes manual doesn't list the gap setting. but on my mark vii. i have a sticker/label under the hood that shows the belt diagram and the spark plug gap, which is .054 maybe chiltons manual might have it. or you can ask "auto zone" or where you buy the plugs.
