Oil pressure indicator going low to hight intermittent.full oil H2 2003?

Replace the oil sensor. I've also seen this happen when someone puts in custom stereo equipment and draws power off the oil gauge in the dash. See if it happens with the stereo off.

Oil pressure on my 1996 Dodge Ram pickup is running low even though my oil level is fine

have the oil pressure checked with an independent gage as sometimes gages in the dash don`t show correct pressure. how long has it been since the oil was changed as oil when it gets dirty it thins out and can affect oil pressure. if you don`t hear any ticking with the motor running chances are the pressure is either good or just a little low. testing oil pressure with an independent gage will tell the tale.

If my 2004 chevy silverado oil pressure gage stays at 80 psi could this hurt the engine

I would want to know what the actual oil pressure is. The sending unit or the gauge on the dash could have failed.
There is a pressure relief valve to prevent oil pressure from going too high, but staying at 80psi would not be good for a long time.

Oil light comes on and off when in park idling. oil level is fine.

Sounds like a weak oil pump at higher rpm the pump creates more pressure which is adaquate to make the light go out and supply oil to the engine. At lower rpm your oil pump is not creating the pressure needed. Be carefull not to let it idle or sit in park to long this could damage the engine. There is oil pressure sending unit also this is what makes the light come on and it also shows the oil pressure on the oil gage on dash if your vehicle is equipped with gage. The sending unit could be faulty, but play it safe and have your mechanic diagnose the problem.

Oil pressure problem

Change the oil filter. It could be clogged. That would cause an increase in oil pressure. You dont wanna blow a main seal so do it promptly. If that isnt the problem, then you might want to consider consulting a local ASE Certified mechanic to help better diagnose the problem. Good Luck.

Why is my oil pressure gauge on my 2003 hummer h2 always read 80 when the vehicle is running, back to zero when shut off?

because when the engine is shut off, the oil pump is also shut off, therefore no oil pressure. no problem here!

The oil presure gage goes up and down from zero to

All you have to do is replace your oil pressure sending unit. It`s in the rear of the motor by the left head. This is the drivers side. You need a special socket to remove the sending unit.Good luck.
