Has a timing belt and if you need to replace it, if you take it to the dealer it is going to cost you well over $1000. On the ES the belt and waterpump should be changed between 90-120 km

I totally agree with Robert Wood. If that has a distributor, take the cap off and have someone turn the ignition key over while you watch the rotor. If the rotor doesnt turn you probably have a broken timimg belt.
The 2002 lexus es 300 has the 3.0L engine, which is non-interference. The later lexus es 330 has the 3.3L engine, which is an interference engine. The even later es350 has the 3.5 engine and is back to non-interference as well as having a timing chain rather than a belt. Hope this helps.
Go to a Lexus official dealer and ask for parts -act belt...the service person usually prints diagram if y do not know exactly how to describe the parts to buy
the front bank is bank 2, the rear one is bank one. The cylinders go from the timing belt side to the right. So 3 is the middle on the back bank, and four is the middle cylinder on the front bank. They are both in the middle so just replace them.
