Remove the rear license plate and reach into the hole where the tag was mounted. The plug that holds the bulb rquires a 1/4 turn counter clockwise to unlock then pull it down and out of the hole to access the bulb.

1996 Monte Carlo no brake lights only third brake light, fuse is good

sounds like one of two things, your bulbs are burnt out or your brake light switch is no good, the switch has 2 parts inside of it, one for ther brake lights and one for the 3rd brake light

Does the MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH control the rear brake lights? My top (third brake light) works, just not the back ones. My 4 way switch snapped on me so I have to move it around to get it right so I can use...

You need to replace the multifunction switch, the wireing to the brake lights in the rear are shared by this switch and the brake light switch and because the third one is working then it is unlikely the brake switch is defective.

I have a chevy s 10 brake lights don't work

Brake light relay is bad. It is the third solenoid from the left on top of firewall under hood. If this is bad, the third (cab top) brake will still work fine, but no rear brake lights!
