The keyless remote buttons (unlock, lock, panic, truck) don't work on my 2009 S40. It stopped working suddenly (got home... went to lock the car with the remote... didn't work). I replaced the battery -- no change. I can get in the car with the key blade, and then use the keyless remote/key fob to start the car. What do I need to do to fix the remote so the buttons will work. I bought the car used ... only came with one remote. Any help would be appreciated.
The remote receiver unit is located in the rear view mirror. This may be faulty. Since the car is new (less than a year?) you still may have the factory warranty.

Change the battery in the remote unit.
Take it apart its something like a duracell cr2035 usually.
The micro switch in the key for the engine management is different to the remote unit functions to Open and close the car. .
