The trim snaps in, no screws! I have used a hook type screwdriver, the kind used to install springs... I carefully insert the tool between the lower left corner of the radio and the bezel. Rotate the tool 90 degrees toward the bezel and pull straight out. Id say it comes off with maybe 15 pounds of pulling force. The radio is screwed in with brackets. You'll see once the bezel is off. **Keep in mind that many Optimas use an external amp located between the right rear door and wheel well. Also, some use 2 ohm speakers, all the way around. You may need to change all of it to upgrade your sound systemHow to remove radio from 2001 sonata - 2_bing.gif, I did**. Good luck!

  5. Slide the new head unit into the Hyundai radio adaptor kit. Attach the wiring harness adaptor and antenna wire to the back of the new head unit and push the entire assembly into the dash.
  6. Secure the stereo in place with the four front and side screws and turn it on. Verify all of the speakers and features are working. Reattach the radio trim panel, insert the rod back into cable assembly and secure the trim around the gear shift.

SOURCE: Removal of Radio in 2004 Hyundai Sonata

Remove the facia plate, and remove the 4 screws that hold the radio in place. It's actually one of the simplest cars you can do.

Wanto change heater switch in Hyundai sonata model 2001

They can be replaced but are expensive at the dealership. I found the whole "climate control assembly" on eBay for about $40. delivered. The bezel has only snaps holding it in place. you can carefully remove it with a hook type screwdriver. Start near the radio and pull straight out with maybe 15 pounds of pulling force. Reassembly is very easy. good luck.
