Is the vehiclle cranking over????? If it is not, check to make sure the battery to engine ground is good at the engine connection. There is also a "body strap" ground, that goes from the engine to the Body of the car, & on SOME models is the ground to the fuse box, which actuates everything. Mopar has had problems with this for years, especially on their Mini Vans
need to narrow the field a little,1st check battery connections, turn headlights on @ turn key to start, if lights dim,,starter drawing amps, could be bad starter, is fuel pump humming when key on? if not check fuses under hood for fuel pump relay if ticks when key turned on it's good. it's either a spark or fuel issue, hope this helps!!
you need to have some to stand back by the side of the van while you turn the key to listen if you can hear the fuel pump if not check out the fuel pump really first before replacing the fuel pump if its in the tank give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your van wish you the best Michigan Man.
How do you know the fuel pump is good? And I would not keep using starting fluid to try and start the vehicle. Did you check fuel pressure? Did you try to dump a little fuel down the carb then try starting?
Disconnect the inlet and outlet pipes on the upper right side of the firewall (Its somewhat of a long reach but you can do it) Drain the radiator and then remove the heater core. Its inside the van located in the heater box under the passenger side of the dash board. I believe you may have to remove the inner glove box. I know that is the case on the TransPort and the Silhouette but the Lumina dash is somewhat different in style.
you can try a couple of things put the key in the drivers door lock manually lock and unlock the door
with it unlocked try starting the car if that doesn't work disconect the battery turn the key on then hook up the battery and try to start it also check your owners manual about the alarm
good luck!!
CHECK THE FUSIBLE LINK THAT COMES OFF THE STARTER POST.THEY LOOK JUST LIKE A WIRE, BUT THEY GET STRECHY WHEN THERE'RE BLOWN.IF THIS IS THE CASE YOU WILL NEED TO FIND THE CIRCUT THAT CAUSED IT TO BLOW,AND REPLACE THE LINK.
