Please remove the battery connectors for 5 minutes and replace.

That should do the trick.

The maintenance light is different from the check eng.
light, it's programed to come on at manuf. recomended service intervals.
if you just want the light out you can clear it with an
OBDII tool if you don't have access to one you can
always take it in for an oil change if it's been a while
and they will clear it for you.
hope this helps any other ? gimme a shout.
good luck

How can I reprogram the immobilizer to my 2003 kia spectra automatic

You can't reprogram it unless you have a $5,000 bi-directional scan tool computer. You can however reset it.

Is the 2003 Kia Sephia engine 0 tolerence, will the valve be bent if the timing belt breaks?

The timing belt should be replaced to avoid the possibility of bent valves if the belt fails. This is normally performed as preventative maintenance when the vehicle has approximately 100,000 miles. However, to reassure Kia owners, I drove my own 2003 Kia Spectra 170,000 miles without performing this maintenance so I can attest to the durability of the factory belt.

It is a gamble to attempt to go beyond the normal service life of the timing belt.

Check engine light went on

Some auto parts stores (like AutoZone) will diagnose the code for the check engine light for free. If the vehicle is running fine it may be something as simple as a bad oxygen sensor.
