Your thermostat is a black piece of plastic just above the water pump behind the water pump pulley. both radiator hoses go to it.

How do i replace a blower motor in a 1999 bmw 323i convertible?

Hi JT. The blower can be accessed from under the hood. The plastic grille trim piece must be removed. There is a panel held to the firewall with 4 screws that comes off. The wiring harness in that area needs moved out of the way and the plastic engine covers come out of the way. The blower motor has a plastic cover held in place with small springs clips. The clips are easy to drop so be careful. The blower motor wheels must be removed and installed in the car. It is not possible to install or remove the motor with the wheels on it. It sometimes also helps to put the wipers in the vertical position.
