S Reg 1.8 Ti S40 noisy ride over bumpy roads

Smooth road driving the car sounds quiet. when driving over bumpy roads the front end sounds as if i'm driving on a flat tyre or the off-side suspension needs renewing. had the suspension and track rod connections checked out but they seem to be ok. any suggestions would be appreciated

It is normal, if you're using low profile tyres or having too high tyre pressure. Observe the manual.

Thumping/Banging noise at the front end.

check front-end out, immediately, could be a bad bushing/ control arm, this would need attention, asap, you could lose control of vehicle, or somethingelse is broken, shock, but the control arm / bushing is my bet. get it repaired, unsafe condition !!!

My vitz 1999 model runs fine on a smooth road but when driving on a bumpy road the car is so unstable goes up and down so much as if wanting to overturn

bounce a corner of the car to see if you have more than a bounce and a rebound,if more, then fit new shockers, always in pairs, front and rear.

Popping or knocking heard in front end when riding

Sounds like the Spring may be broken or there is another loose front end part such as a ball joint or a spring seat or something like that.

I had a broken spring on my 1990 Cadillac Deville and didn't know it until looking at it up under the wheel, and experiencing a popping or knocking sound when turning.

It could also be the bearing cap area problem.
