you have the engine malfunction light, the orange with the engine block with the lightning strike?if yes, youe problem is a broken glowplug,if you do not have the engine light, the ptoblem is electrical fault, should read out the error codes then...
Oh my,, It looks like HOPEFULLY the top gasket.. but the loss of power means the engine is loosing compression, suggesting that the engine block is cracked or the tapit pan gasket is broken.. Hopefully its just the seal.. I strongly suggest you get a pro to look at this and fix it for you..
but if you want to check the engine block to see if its broken,,,, take out the radiator cover and start the vehicle,, if you bubbles or the water pumping out,, you got a damaged engine block.. If not then is the seal.. you need to take the engine top off, to fix the seal,, its the one that seals the top to then engine itself.. This is one i found on youtube for a honda but the steps are basically the same..
Hi. On 4-cylinder engines, the engine identification number is stamped into the block near the crankcase breather or upper coolant hose fitting. On VR6 engines, the identification number is located directly above the crankshaft pulley, at the top of the cylinder block. The first two (or in the case of later engines, three) digits are the engine code and will be the most useful description of the engine when locating specifications or ordering parts.
Now, if you are trying to locate the vehical VIN, this is on the left side of the dashboard, visible through the windshield. On
Golf and Jettas, a second plate is located on the top of the cowling behind the
engine.
Crank shaft timing marks are on the drivers side end of the engine. Just pry off the rubber plug that is at the top of the junction of the engine to transmission. Rotate the engine with a wrench on the passenger side at the crankshaft. The Cam timing marks are on the top passenger side just remove the cam timing cover. A couple of clips and a bit of wiggling should free it up. If your cam belt is broken do not turn the engine over you may bend the valves if you have an interference type engine.
If you see oil in air filter means oil cotrol piston ring worn out. or broken.
engine oil passes gap between engine block and piston rings.
so you need engine ovaholing.
Under the hood, on top of the engine where the wires head into the engine block. The wires can be removed a,d the glow plugs can be extracted. Just follow the cables.
