I removed the battery from the car since I could never get it started; found out that the battery was DEAD. Battery was replaced. I'm rolling again. Thanks FixYa. Dead battery probability was suggested by another post.

SOURCE: clicking when i turn the key

This is caused by the contacts being burned in the starter solenoid, just the solenoid contacts can be replaced, you have to pull the starter to do this, the new contacts are available from Ohiomotor.com

SOURCE: 92 Lexus LS400 only clicking noise when I turn key to start

There are a number of things that could cause that. Try turning the key to the on position and crossing the starter terminals with a screwdriver. If it starts you have a bad ignition. If it still just clicks your starter has seized up or your battery might be lacking the charge to do the job. Hope these help you.

Your battery is dead try to charge it or use jumper pack to start, and you might need a new battery or if car wont run when jumper is removed you will need a altinator hope this helps :)

Impala's are famous for ignition issues, are the interior lights of your dash coming on when you want them, or just by themselves? The clicking after you turn off, I would check the security system, i.e., remote clickers, cars computer, key chip, ect. Sound like your alarm is attempting to engage

Clicking noise coming from the fuse box "under the dash" when I turn on the heat, now car won't start.

that item is called a relay switch. it toggles on and off depending on which electrical component it is connecting. if it's blown, they are cheap and easy to replace like a fuse, but you'll need to look at the fuse box chart (usually on the underside of the lid) to determine which one and where it's located. You can't look inside the relay to determine if blown, but you can replace them one at a time to test...
Also, if you're experienced in electrical, a paper clip can be used when the relay is out, to connect the circuit that you need. use tools and or gloves when attempting this method.

What is causing the clicking noise when i try 2 start my car

If all you hear is a clicking noise when attempting to start your car it could be caused from a weak battery (from a battery failure or because the alternator failed to charge the battery) or a faulty starter.

Own a 1999 jeep cherokee sport has a problem when attempting to start while turning the key forward i am hearing a clicking noise from the passenger side fuse panel but the starter and engine do not turn...

The clicking noise you hear is likely the starter relay. (should be identified inside the box cover) You need to check that battery is up to full voltage, terminal connections are clean and secure and that there is 12 volts at the main power lead on the starter and power at the small trigger wire connection at the starter when the key is turned to the start position. If you have that, then very likely the starter needs to be replaced. If not you will need to check wiring and neutral safety switch as well as main fuses in the power distribution center (the box where the clicking relay is, near the battery)

When attempting to start my car, there is a clicking noise. The battery seems to be fine, air comes on, radio and lights power on. Any suggestions? of coarse i will not start. I'm a single female with no...

You have a solenoid on your starter. The solenoid is what you most likely hear clicking. The battery seems to be fine from your info. The starter can be repaired with a new solenoid. It really depends on who you go to and what the charge is to repair. The battery sends power to the solenoid, the solenoid kicks power to the starter to turn the starter for your engine to start. Good Luck

My car wont start battery is not dead, but wont turn over?

if the battery is fine check if you hear a clicking noise coming from the starter motor when you turn the key to try and start the engine.
If you hear this noise then this is a good indication that the selenoid has failed meaning you need to replace the starter motor.

You can give the starter motor a hit with a piece of wood as some times this will get the starter motor working just to start the car but this isnt a permanent fix and could leave you stuck if you used the car.

Now if the starter motor isnt clicking but you hear a clicking noise coming from either the cars fuse box or the ecu when you turn the key to start the car then this would indicate a problem with the imobiliser this would need testing using a diagnostic machine as their is no other way of testing this to find out if its at fault.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
