The heat won't come on in my 97 t-bird. what's wrong with it?

o2s ( oxygen sensors) are always after the cat converter
heated oxygen sensors(HO2S a totally different operation)are always before the cat converter or in the exhaust manifold

gauge might be faulty

Bad fuel pump, fuel filter, it may not have enough pressure or you aren't getting spark

Leaving it sit does nothing good. Are there any lights coming on in the dashboard?

Outside of radiator is most likely full of dirt,leaves,
bird feathers,etc.
Remove as many things as necessary, & use an air hose
followed by garden hose to clean radiator.

Could try a new thermostat & make sure spark plugs
& basic preventative maintenance is done

Change Power Steering,Trans & Motor Oils
Old fluids won't remove heat well

The impact sensor for airbag system is located in that area. I don't know about air conditioning

Is there an issue with the lighter itself or the actual socket for the lighter?

My 1997 ford taurus won't blow any cold air. The hoses feel really cold. But nothing blows into the car itself.

Those bolts should be allen head bolts and NOT torx (star shaped). With a torx bit in that hole all u will do is mess up a torx bit and the flats for the allen wrenches to grab onto. Try using a 10 or 12 mm( cant remeber which it is) allen head wrench.
