My interior lights won't turn on when I open the driver's door. They turn on when any of the other doors are opened. I do have the light switch on the door position. i opened the door with the lights on with the engine off and the chime doesnt work either.
There's a switch that's usually located around the door hinges; you should be able to see it if the door is open. Sounds like the switch is bad, and isn't completing the circuit when you open the one door. Open the door, and see if you can wiggle the switch. If so, see if it will turn the lights on. It won't always do it, but if it does, it will confirm that it is sticking. If not, you may have to take the switch out, and jump the two leads to see if the lights will come on. If they do, go ahead and replace the switch. If not, test the two wires with a multimeter, looking for around 12-16 volts DC. If you have power there, then the switch is bad. If you do not, then you need to trace the wires and find the break in the wires.
