There's a switch that's usually located around the door hinges; you should be able to see it if the door is open. Sounds like the switch is bad, and isn't completing the circuit when you open the one door. Open the door, and see if you can wiggle the switch. If so, see if it will turn the lights on. It won't always do it, but if it does, it will confirm that it is sticking. If not, you may have to take the switch out, and jump the two leads to see if the lights will come on. If they do, go ahead and replace the switch. If not, test the two wires with a multimeter, looking for around 12-16 volts DC. If you have power there, then the switch is bad. If you do not, then you need to trace the wires and find the break in the wires.

Hi. If you remove the back seat, the door pad can then be removed, lokk at the rhs one to see where the bottom screw is, this can be removed with a long t20 torx driver. Once in the door pad, remove the windows ancillery carrier, you can then break the door lock from the inside of the door.

My interior lights wont work in my vw passat 2.0 tdi sport 2007

  • There is a fuse box on the drivers side either under the dash or on the aids of the dash. One of them fuses could be blown.

  • The other thing that could be going wrong is the harness on the driver side door. If you open the drivers door you will see a harness stretching from the frame to the door. You can get into that harness and look for broke, bulged or rusted wires and splice in new ones. This is common with aged vehicles because of the amount that door is used.

Hy does my vw bora lock itself even when ive opened the door

Do the interior lights come on when you open the door (and you have the lights set to do that)? If they do not, the open door switch has gone bad and the car does not know you opened the door, that's why it locks itself. The procedure to fix this problem can be found here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1542461

Vw bora central locking

I would check the electrical wiring connector that connects to the B Pillar (the structure between the front and back doors looking for a pinched wire. If you move the rummer boot around a bit I think you can get a pretty good look at the wires and you will be looking for one that might be dangling loose. If this sort of thing isn't really up your alley a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Interior lights won't turn on when door opens

Do you have electric locks in the vehicle? One test to do is turn on the car's headlights and open the door. You should hear a chime when you open the driver door. One other thing is to unlock the doors with the remote if you have a remote open the driver door, get in the car but don't put the key in the ignition. The doors might relock after 15-20 seconds. This proves that the door signal open is not being processed. Just tell me what model VW and what year and if you have electric locks and I'll help you.
