Hello! when you say just about everything ; Can you give a brief run-down of what you have done? If you have not checked all vacuum lines for breaks, worn, pinched or loose; Please do so...

There are three very probable causes; Lets eliminate...

#1 Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (MAP)...Located on the throttle body...Using a volt meter, Measure across pins...Must be greater than 1 volt at idle...If not it's faulty...

#2 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)...located at the throttle body...Using a volt meter, measure the voltage at the sensor...Must be less than than 1 volt at idle...As you slowly increase the throttle the voltage must rise smoothly to 4 volts at full throttle...If it skips or jumps the TPS is defective...

#3 The Air Control Temperature sensor (ACT)...Located in the top of the air filter box (It is usually green in color)...unscrew the sensor...Inspect the tip for dirt and contamination...If contaminated the sensor is defective...

Send a comment when complete....

Why does my 89 chev 4x4 s10 blazer turn over and back fire but won't start?

did you have any work done on the engine? it sounds as though the engine and/or valve timing may not be set correctly. Have the timing checked and reset if needs be. Good luck!

Check the battery cables for corrosion near the battery terminal end. Sometimes it builds up under the rubber insulation. I would check the ground wire that runs from the battery to the engine block.

94 blazer s10 4l60e and the 94 fullsize blazer 4l60e are they the same transmission could i use a s10 tranny for my fullsize blazer ?? i know the bolt for the plate are 3 on each side for mine and the s10...

Installing the full-size Blazer trans into the S-10 would be safer. As long as they came off of the same size engine then yes, they will interchange. But.... the trans off of the S-10 is not built as strong as the trans for the full-sized Blazer, clutch capacity is less, band servo may have smaller apply area, and torque convertor stall speed may different enough to set a "code". Towing capability would be compromised. I have no idea what you meant by the "bolt for the plate".

Did you do all the basic stuff ? Tune-up, fuel filter air filter, inspect wiring- If you are working on this yourself, really take a G O O D look at everything you can get access to.

1989 Chevy K5 Blazer uneven idle

I had this probelm, we found that the throttle body gasket was letting air in through a tiny pin hole, new gasket fixed it. You have rebuilt yours, maybe check the seal. Be sure and use a new gasket.

87' blazer grill converted to 89' -Help-!!

try checking for a headlight harness that belongs to the 89 and match it, or look for one online. Conversions can change the harness sometimes. You don't have to cut any wires. If you cut wires, sometimes you will have a bigger problem than you thought.
