Hi my 2006 F150 king ranch has shut off twice where it locks up for the engine failsafe then says low oil pressure. after turning off then on, it goes away. Any thoughts? The truck is recently purchased and oil level is fine.

Oil level is zero indication of oil pressure, unless the oil level is drastically low. Remove the oil pressure sender and screw in an oil pressure gauge. Verify oil pressure. If you have pressure within specs, replace the sender. Either you need to check this out yourself, or take this to a mechanic to have it investigated, or you risk serious engine damage that will result in engine replacement.

Your pickup should have thrown a stored code if it has shut down. Get the code extrracted, and see if it indicates a sensor along with something else. I would advise you to install an after market gauge which operates independantly fron the existing oil pressure circuit to verify that it is a low oil pressure condition the next time it happens.Could be a faulty sensor, but it needs to be verified first.

2002 F150 Temp reads hot and loss of power. The truck is not running hot when temp gauge reads hot and when I shut off truck and restart the gauge goes to normal for about a mile then back to hot. It...

You could try another oil pressure sensor or test the oil pressure with a gauge at the sensor port. If you think about it, the truck goes into a failsafe mode when there is a problem. You could go into failsafe with high temperatures too. The water temp sensor could be bad but with the oil light coming on, the oil sensor should be your first choice.

You can get a free scan at Autozone or Oreillys and it may show the problem. Sometimes it takes a better scan with dealership type diagnostics because the self-diagnostics on your truck is limited.

Failsafe mode would cause the power loss because the truck is designed to kill cylinders and to use the dead cylinders as hot exhaust pumps to cool the block.
