1998 Toyota Corolla Spedometer gauge not working stucked at 0

start at the fuel float sender part inside the petrol tank

float may be stuck or need a new sender

the fuel guage in the dash dont normally give trouble

Timing marks setting Corolla 4A-FE.
Align the notch on the crankshaft pulley with the "0" mark on the timing belt lower cover.


With the crankshaft pulley being aligned with the 0 mark on the timing belt cover, the hole on the camshaft sprocket should exactly be in front of the notch of camshaft bracket.

check for a stuck open throttle or severe vaccuum leaks..

For what model is this but i would agree it could be the speed sensor, cable or harness worst would be the gauge it self.

Most overheating problems are caused by a stuck closed thermostat, if it has already been replaced the next common cause is a clogged radiator, have it checked at a REAPIR SHOP OR RADIATOR SHOP IF YOU REMOVE IT YOURSELF

bleed any pressure off at the engine. drain and lower the gas tank, remove the pump install new pump. replace all hoses with new while you are in there and might do the gas gauge sensor too and any external filter nearby. reinstall tank, put in gas, turn on ignition and bleed any air out. go.

the bulb is held in with a metal clip, if your trying to replace the driver side, check out the passenger side first, it will give you a idea of what your working with

overflow pipe most likely obstructed.

find the wire that goes to temp sender and apply earth to it turn ignition on the temp gauge should read hot if it does replace water temp sender if gauge dose not move gauge needs replaging

Some cars have a second fuse box under the hood near the battery. See if your car doesn't have one of those.
