Go into your car and take the rubber piece off of the lower part of the shifter to expose the metal. if you look there will bl a rectangular button. push it in an odds ate you will be able to put the durango right into gear.
You need to check the cable/linkage for the shifter, If the shifter moves and it does not shift the problem could be there. If the shifter won't move the problem could also be that there is a lot of p[ressure on the trans. This could be caused by being parked on a hill or incline. If this is the case it is a very is repair, all you have to do is push the truck up the hill slightly to take the pressure off and the shifter will move. Theses are the normal things that happen there are a few other things that can happen but they are internal in the trans and are not easy to repair unless you have done this type of repair before.
