I am not familiar with this model but have experienced a similar nightmare on a very model. I suspect that the child safety locks are set which is stopping you opening the doors from the inside and the outside handles are not working because the latches may have been set in the locked position.
with the inside door panel removed look inside the door towards the handle you will see 2 bolts/nuts that hold the exterior handle to the door. you will have to disconnect the lock clip that holds the rod to the handle that moves to open the door when you pull on the door handle.
rear doors have a child lock in the door that you can set to stop children opening the door from the inside. IT is normally in the rear flat section of the door and is a small lever.. I think that in working on the door this lever was moved to the lock position . You should be able to open the door from the outside if this is the problem
im sorry to say that u will need to have to door removed...u need to bring this to a body repair shop, they may be able to remove the plastic panel on the inside on the door to gain acess to the rear door latch an open it by prying on the latch inside the door...what happened is when u got hit the door latch was crushed against the latch that hold the door lock... there is so much pressure on the lock now u cant apply enough pressure to the lock by pulling on the handle to open it...that is the only way to gain access to the bolts that hold ur light set in....
There should be a small removable panel inside of where the latch is located. This is usually a pop off panel. Once removed you can inspect the mechanism for movement problems. Another quick fix if only the catch alignment is in the wrong place...Use the inside lock mechanism and pull into the unlock position...this re-aligns the catch to the open position, (lubricate with PB Blaster...most parts stores including Walmart:) This re-alignment of the catch may solve your problem. Your Venture is a popular model...if you have the wear-withal...you can visit your local salvage yard for a working latch...:) Hope this helps.
Pain but fixable. Sounds like the linkage is not connected. Even a mechanic will have to remove the door panel and fight with it. If you can remove the rear seat from the drivers side side door then you might have room to remove the passenger side door panel to fix it. Usually clips are the first thing to break on door handle/latch linkages
Dig out the broken bits of door handle, then on the right side insert a
flat head screwdriver diagonally up and fish around for the release
lever.
Push up on the screwdriver handle to manipulate the release lever down and your tailgate will open.
Remove the interior panels by unbolting the 10mm bolt behind the strap and pulling off the interior pieces held on by plastic pop fasteners. Remove the 10mm bolts around the perimeter of the interior cover plate and let it hang by the harness. Remove the license plate. Remove the license plate trim panel (multiple push fasteners from behind and a few 10mm around the lock) Replace the handle.
