Beetle door locks can be a fun fix done plenty of them but this one has me stump installed nw latch now both door locks wont work with buttons or remote can hear passenger door lock slightly actuat when tring to unlock

FIX CAR DOOR LATCH

A non electric door, (which?) wont open,lock works ok, handle wont open the door.
What can I do to fix it.
well telling the door to us would help, and options.
so no electric locks,
there are 2 levers. one inside and one outside.
so you pull the door card (inside door covering)
and look at both locks , the inside pull, its it working?
then look at the key lock cylinder. is it connected still
and last are both connected to the latch mechanism.
one can cycle this latch lever inside the door shell.
if that fails the latch is busted.
all this is covered in the FSM ,why not read it.? (under body)

your drivers door latch assembly is bad causing the alarm to go off replace the drivers door latch with a new one and it wont do this any more

I have just fixed mine. You have to remove the rear seat then remove the side panel that the door is jammed on.Now looking at the door post you will see two screw heads that are crome in colour. I took a small grinder and took of some of the length of the screw These two screws is what holds the door latch to the body which holds the door closed I then drilled a hole threw the bracket and the screws both screws then broke the bracket loose,pushed the screws in and the door opened.Had to buy a new lock assembly from a wrecking yard and took out the to screws I drilled out.of the same car I got the lock assembly Good Luck It worked for me

I am working on a 2000 Beetle now and the hood latch is near where most are on the left by the door yet it is flush to the wall. Otherwise the lift latch is just in front under the hood. Hope it works.

thats why locks were not working sounds like you may have a bad latch, so it thought door was open and would not lock doors on your command /good luck.

if you can open the door its the lock actuator from handle to lock that may be off need to pull off the door trim panel /please rrate my response thank you very much
