You could take the old sensor from the old motor and put it in, but that may still not work as the sensors may be of different values and the computer would not know how to handle the incoming data from the other sensor

fuse are first, and sensors unplugged.
wow. that was brave.
gee did 1 spark fails or all 4? not doing all 4 is so wrong.
if all 4 die, CKP /CMP tests are next.
no turbo right? 2.0L DOHC chain drive, miles on it are?
wow fuses all good is first not $300 parts.
is this a USA car, not told why skip #1 important fact .????
in the USA we have OBD2 cars 1996 up. (our invention)
but not VOXY sold to ASIA, are you in ASIA market????????

I have toyota Gaia wit 1az-fse engine when engine check light comes on it loses accelleration power,so we changed the fuel pressure sensor nothin changed next we changed computer bt after some time th

In stead of changing what is not wrong, save money and time by having the fault codes read and fixing the fault
check engine lights refer to both an engine problem and a transmission problem so what you may have could be in the transmission.

1999 pontiac grand am 2.4L DOHC changing a 2wire connector on a single-wire harness for the engine's knock sensor

What you propose will not work with your pcm. If you have 2 wires to the knock sensor, one is probably a reference wire and the other a signal. The computer will throw a code and will not understand the return signal.

How do you replace the knock sensor 1 bank 1 on a GMC Sierra 1999?

knock sensor problems arise from ---wiring --poor connections --knock sensor----insecure KS--KS incorrectly tightened ---wiring short to positive --wiring short to ground ---ECM
as you can see , there are more causes than the KS itself so care should be taken in the installation, tightening , wires and make sure that the area is water proof

I have a code p0325 knock sensor 1, circuit bank 1 or single sensor problem

A knock sensor tells the engine computer when one or more of your engine's cylinders are "knocking", that is, exploding the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can be damaging to the engine if prolonged. The computer uses this information to tune the engine so that it doesn't knock. If your knock sensor wasn't operating properly, so that it was always indicating a knock, the engine computer's response may have been to change the ignition timing on your engine. Knock sensors generally bolt into or thread into the engine block.

This P0325 code may show up intermittently or the Service Engine light may be lit constantly. Other knock sensor related DTC codes include P0330.

Symptoms: You may notice drivability problems including a lack of power and perhaps some hesitation. There may also be other symptoms.

Causes: A code P0325 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
* The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
* There is a wiring short/fault in the knock sensor circuit

Possible Solutions
* Check the resistance of the knock sensor (compare it to factory specs)
* Check for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
* Replace the knock sensor

Test it and tell us news.

I am changing the motor in my 1999 Jimmy S15, i bought a motor off craiglist. The motors have same engine code. the only difference is the Detnation sensor is different the one that came out has one wire...

It sounds like you got a 2001 motor. The 1999 and 2000 use the one wire knock sensor and screws into the block, the 2001 has the two wires and bolts to the block. I would think that you could use the one wire sensor screwed into the block of the new motor, but I would verify for sure that everything else with the new motor is compatible with the 1999. I would suspect that there may be some other issues of compatibility. I would check with a GMC dealer, but I think you may have the wrong motor.
