Key won't turn on the ignition

key won't turn (off to run) the key is frozen in the off position?

makes sure tires front are not against a curb hard.
or the steering lock for key is bad.

turn the key clockwise, gently and wiggle the steering roughly and it unlocks and key moves. to on.

The ignition key won't turn likely because the shifter linkage that locks the key in OFF is worn or loose. Move the shifter linkage hard to the Park position and the key will turn. Have the linkage adjusted and the worn parts replaced

I'm assuming you mean your key wont turn in the ignition. first off check to make sure the car is in park. then what you gotta do is put in the key and put a little pressure as if turning but dont turn too hard, then even though the steering wheel is locked you will have to try to move it a little, if you parked with your tires turned then you will want to try to turn the wheel in the same direction, (even locked you should be able to move it about a half inch) you will have to turn the wheel hard but it should move enough to allow the key to turn, you may have to jiggle the key a little in the ignition but it should eventually turn, just remember not to try turning the key too hard, the extra force wont make it go but can cause the key to break. this tends to happen when you turn the car off andthe steering wheel gets locked if the wheels are turned hard in either direction. also if multiple attempts at this still dont work, try taking the key out and turning it over and trying again. Even though both sides of the key are identicle, because of wear on the key and the ignition, sometimes when the wheel locks the ignition, it will only turn if the key is put in a certain way. Try turning the key while jerking the wheel left and right and depressing the brake pedal. If that won't work try another key.

Hi Shanae, I hope this will help you out. Try moving, pull the steering wheel left or right like you are steering it. Do this while trying to turn the key. It won't move much but It may move enough to take the pressure off the steering lock and free the key to turn for you. This is fairly common issue when parked on a hill or uneven ground.

Try moving your steering wheel to the left then jiggle the key until it releases, if no luck try the same thing moving the steering wheel to the right, or combination of both ways, If this works then there is nothing to worry about, it can happen almost to any vehicle, you are just in between the wheel locking mechanism and the ignition start or the removal of the key, a common problem in the design of the wheel lock, to prevent it from happening again, just have your steering wheel were you want it before starting or turning off you car. turn the steering wheel counter clockwise (to your left) forcefully. while holding the steering wheel, insert the key in the ignition switch and try to turn it on, if the key wont move, try to **** the steering wheel repeatedly while try to turn on the engine every ****.

grab the steering wheel and turn it left or to the right and sometimes you might have to put a little effort in it but one way the steering wheel will move about 1-2" and as you are moving it with one hand take the other hand and turn the key and it should turn a lot easier.this is a common thing and if you can try to have the wheels straight and try not to use the steering wheel to get in or out of the vehicle and the wheel should not lock and make it so hard on you.you have to use both hands at the same time one moving the wheel and the other one turning the key but start moving the wheel in the in direction that it moves the most then turn the key.

check your key see if its not damaged ok also press the break move the steering wheel slowly and move the key as you are moveing the steering wheel

Your steering wheel is locked in place. You need to put the key into the ignition, then turn the steering wheel more towards the way it is already turned and try turning the key then in the ignition. The steering wheel should move ever so slightly and it should free up the ignition. Let me know how this turns out.
