This is definitely the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor located behind the dash Glove Box.
Remove the Glove Box completely to access.
It is mounted onto/slightly into the fire wall and has 3 to 4-wires going into it. I believe there are two (2) 8-mm bolts holding it on. It is shape like a 3 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high.
Disconnected the negative side of the battery first
Unplug the resistor.
Unbolt.
Remove and replace with new resistor.
Re-plug back in.
Reconnect the negative side of the battery.
Check operation before re-onstalling the glove box!

fords are notorius for faulty fan switches, you will need to get a new one, but it will probably fail in a year or two.

SOURCE: Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.

SOURCE: Heater Fan does not work

Sounds like the fan control knob has shorted out. You can check the fan "blower" relay and fuse in the engine compartment but you need to make sure the control knob is good or you will keep blowing fuses and relays. If your blower fuse and relay are good, then just have the control knob checked and replaced if needed.

How do i fix the blower stuck on high

if it only goes on high, the resistor needs to be changed . It is on firewall ,passenger side of car under wiper assembly behind alternator. not a hard job to do, part is not expensive. you will get low,med , and high back. if not switch on dash panel, or change blower motor, last ,since it is going on- working. good luck

Heater (fan) not working

well the blower work on HIGH>?
if the blower i dead on high , replace the fuse. called blower
if the fuse is good, then the blower is bad , the controls to it are bad
the FSM covers all the tests.
if not DIY person, take it in for service.
or look on alldata.com (online, almost FSM)

Heater / air conditioner fan control doesn't engage fan. Previously, it only worked in high speed.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

The fan is stuck blowing on high, the knob turns etc... but the fan and condenser run full blast

Check the connection at the heater blower motor resistor.Wiggle or pull connector off and look for a melted pigtail these get very hot and usally are the cause of fan motor problems. Its located on passenger side of heat duct mounted with 2 screws.

I had the heater and defroster on this morning. I stopped for gas and stopped the engine. When I started the car again the fan and defroster suddenly stopped and the heater, fan, nor defroster would come...

check the blower motor fuse, then you can turn truck on put the speed control to high. if fuse is blown replace fuse, if the speed control only works on high, the blower motor resistor needs replacing. It is on passenger side under glove box in close proximity to the blower motor. The fuse is under the hood on driver side. the cover should say fuses/relay on the top of cover, on most ford vehicles you will need to look in the owners manual for the position of the fuse.

No heat and fan only works on high

The fan only working on high is due to a defective blower motor resistor pack which must be replaced. No heat can be a clogged heater core, defective heater control valve, or thermostat stuck open. On a 8 year old car it is time for a full cooling system service. Drain, flush, replace the thermostat, and refill with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.

1998 Astro Van Heater AC Blower only works on medium & Low

Yes, in high it bypasses the resistor and uses a high blower relay. But I think on 1998 Astro the High relay and the resistor are built together. It should be mounted in the blower box real close to the blower motor.
