They have kits specially designed for the gap ....bring to your local car stereo shop they will be able to replace the stereo to your liking ...with no gaps ...

Pull the MAF sensor and give it a cleaning the correct way.Sometimes something shorts those probes(tiny wires and delicate) and your engine will cut a shine on you.
Look up how to clean the MAF sensor if you don't know how. don-ohio
If you get the make of the radio and the serial number I MAY & I stress MAY be able to get you a code as I do have software to decode for Ford radios but not all of them are in there. The fact that your vehicle is over 10 years old you may have a shot. Anyway reply to this and fixya should email me or you can email me at [email protected] with the info and I will TRY to help if I can.
This is a common problem on the Lincoln Ls. The window regulator which has a plastic clip on it wears out and then just drops your window. Autozone sells the window regulator for a pretty decent price, around $90. When it happened to my Ls it was a simple swap to get my window back working. Although if your not mechanically inclined then you should find a mechanic to do it. Dealerships are way too expensive for such an easy task.
Look under the dash probably behind the radio or just right of it. It should be a white or cream colored flat piece with a few wires going to it. Usually hard to get to.
if u have ur code to reset the radio use it if not notify dealer for radio code to reset when battery goes dead radio thinks its being stolen and goes into anti theft mode
Why would a dealer not be able to find the issue?
Start by checking codes.
If you have to, drive with a scanner, not a code reader on it,to capture data.
If it only has issues when turning the steering wheel and is speed related with the turning, you have a place to start.
I assume the dealer did all that.
I have a 2004 V8,so let me know, what help you need.
the AC service ports are capped with either blue or black caps... and being yours uses R134A, on the container the valve will only fit on the right valve under the hood... the smaller valve is the low side, that is the one you want if you are refilling... the high side will have a larger valve and the container will not fit it... YOU WANT THE SMALL VALVE... NOT THE LARGER VALVE... hope this helps you out...
