I have a 92 mazda mx3 that i just replaced my water pump on and we thought my radiator was leaking so we put radiator stop leak in and right after that my heater stopped working the heater was working fine after we put the water heater on
it is probably flowing through the main arteries of the core and not the tiny veins that it needs to go through to transfer heat. are the lines going to the core hot when the engine is hot? if so its gotta be the core.

1. See if simply adding coolant fixes it.
2. Try replacing the thermostat and the radiator cap. One way to check the thermostat is to start the engine and feel the upper radiator hose. The hose should not feel uncomfortably hot until the engine has warmed-up and the thermostat opens. If the hose does not get hot, it means the thermostat is not opening.
2. Look for antifreeze leaks, inspect the radiator, water pump and hoses.
3. If there are no leaks, and the above steps don't correct the problem, you might have a blown head gasket.
The water pump is next to front right wheel, so if it is leaking around there chances are that it is the water pump...try checking the radiator by flushing water through it and checking for leaks, if not well then it has to be the water pump.
It's probably the water pump and it's leaking on the serpintine belt and throwing it in a different location and running along the block and appears it's coming from the middle .
Location of the pump is here .
Check the hoses connections if no help it is water pump/water pump gasket.
You can try radiator stop leak additives, but most likely you will need to replace the gasket and water pump as it will need to be replaced any way in a future.
Hope that helps
Good Luck
WE FLUSHED THE RADIATOR CORE AND IT ISNT STOPPED UP NOW WHAT
