The stop leak has clogged your heater core. you may be able to flush it out if there is still some flow, otherwise heater core will need to come out.

it is probably flowing through the main arteries of the core and not the tiny veins that it needs to go through to transfer heat. are the lines going to the core hot when the engine is hot? if so its gotta be the core.

2002 Mazda protege heater only blows cold air and engine is over heating. What could be wrong with this car?

1. See if simply adding coolant fixes it. 2. Try replacing the thermostat and the radiator cap. One way to check the thermostat is to start the engine and feel the upper radiator hose. The hose should not feel uncomfortably hot until the engine has warmed-up and the thermostat opens. If the hose does not get hot, it means the thermostat is not opening.
2. Look for antifreeze leaks, inspect the radiator, water pump and hoses. 3. If there are no leaks, and the above steps don't correct the problem, you might have a blown head gasket.

I have a chevy 3.1. It keeps leaking coolant under the passenger side on the ground. I keep having to put coolant in yet it remains in the radiator. Could this be the water pump?I thought if it was the...

The water pump is next to front right wheel, so if it is leaking around there chances are that it is the water pump...try checking the radiator by flushing water through it and checking for leaks, if not well then it has to be the water pump.

Leaking coolant

Check the hoses connections if no help it is water pump/water pump gasket.
You can try radiator stop leak additives, but most likely you will need to replace the gasket and water pump as it will need to be replaced any way in a future.
Hope that helps

92 mx3 overheating, no heat inside car??

WHen a car overheats its alwasys one of these problems,

  • thermostat failing in the closed position.
  • the fan not working properly.
  • radiator semi clogged.
  • the water pump would cause this too but usually you will see leaking from the pump itself.
  • low coolant, but it looks like you have checked that.
