1985 VW Cabriolet cranks fine. Timing belt intact. Was running yesterday, then just stopped. Spark to distributor, no spark out. Replaced fuel pump relay, distributor, ICM, cap and rotor. What else...

That is very interesting. If you have spark to the distributor means that the coil and a CP sensor are OK.Than you have to check ignition leeds and a spar plugs.Did you put correct rotor and a distributor cup?Check compression of the cilynders

My 90 acclaim turns over but wont start. i put new battery in it, and new spark plugs and wires, plus it has a new starter

First you need to know if there is spark, the simple way to do it is to pull a sparkplug wire, insert a phillips screwdriver into the boot, hold it about 1/8 of an inch from a metal part on the engine and have somebody crank the engine for a few seconds, if there is spark should be of a electric blue tone, if not your coil, or the igniter are bad, if spar is present that will tell you if your problem is somewhere else like fuel delivery or electronic fault,

I have no spark at plugs coil has good spark

If you have spark at the coil then you have a good coil. You can't measure Ohm at a spark plug since it is alway open at the gap. But you can OHM measure a spark plug wire at both end. If you have nothing mean your wire is bad. You can swap one more wire to confirm a bad wire. If your wire is not bad then I recommend to replace both rotor and distributor cap. Good luck in locating the problem.
