Why does the timing mark on the harmonic balancer not line up at tdc when installing a new timing belt on a 1992 dodge stealt twin turbo engine

harmonic balancers by design have a rubber insertion between the hub and the pulley
that rubber breaks and relies soley on friction to drive the pulley
it the tdc mark and the piston position are not correct , that would indicate that the harmonic balancer needs replacing
however when replacing the belts always go of the timing marks on the pulleys on the crank and cam shafts and not off the balancer

Balance shaft belt broke, This caused timing belt to jump time Replaced both timing belt and balance belt,Reset timing but found there is no spark at spark plugs Replaced distribitor , But still no spark....

Remove distributor cap temporarily showing the rotor,. Have some one hit the starter switch and crank engine. Observe rotor turning. If not, a gear or coupling on the crank shaft is either stripped or disengaged.

Remove valve cover and see if valves are cycling. If not, camshaft is broken and needs to be replaced. Consider a new short block.

If rotor doesn't turn, there will be no spark.

Balance shaft belt broke in turn broke timeing belt checked the valves and cames they are good. How do i get the balave shaft timed witht the rest of it this is a 2.4 in a 1999 spider.

Thats happened to alot of people. I usually pull the balance shaft and install a balance shaft removal kit. Other people i know just leave the shafts in but don't install the bal.shaft belt.

How to replace water pump in a 1992 mitsubishi galant

All Mitsubishi cars pretty much hide the water pump under the timing belt. You should buy all new belts for the car and consider replacing the water pump at the same time. You will have to take off the power steering belt, the alternator belt, the upper belt cover, support the motor, take off the motor mount, jack up the right front corner of the car, take off the front right tire, take off the engine plastic under cover, line up the TDC timing mark, Take off the front wheel ,take off the plastic splash cover, using an air wrench take off the lower pulleys, take off the lower engine cover, observe the timing marks/arrows and highlight with paint (on the crankshaft, counter balancer shaft , and cam shaft),take off the timing belt, counter balancer belt if there is one, water pump belt, and now you can unbolt the water pump, scrape the gasket, and replace it. Now the good news, if you have tools,a compressor, an air gun(for lower pulley bolt), patience , and four to eight hours to kill, you can actually do it your self.

I removed my timing belt from my 1992 honda accord

The balance shafts have marks on their sprockets that line up with indents on the block. For the one with the pin, just use a drill bit shaft that seems to fit the best and look for the marks. You only have two choices as you turn the balance shaft and expose the alignment hole. One of those spots will have fairly obvious marks that line up at the sprocket. The other one has a mark toward the front of the block. I'll see if I can dig up a photo and post it. The other tricky part is tensioning the belts, it's done in two steps while half the tensioner is clamped in place by a spare timing cover bolt. If you need help with this, let me know.
Please, please don't forget to remove the alignment pin or the bolt you used to clamp the tensioner!

Broken bottom alternator belt

Check those pulleys that the Alternator belt runs on and make sure that they are ok. Make sure that oil is NOT getting on this belt (form oil leaks ) that's one of the most common reasons for belts to break that often. Good Luck
