Removing a CD player from a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage?

How do you remove an existing CD player from a 2001 mirage? I've taken off the faceplate but don't see any screws to allow removal of the player

In my case all of the screws holding it in place had their heads cut, so I had to drill them in order to remove the radio/CD player.

Don't know how much this will help, but some factory radios have a tool that is shaped like a big staple and there is 2 of them. If you see 2 small round holes on the sides of your factory cd player, then thats where these tools go. I have seen them at Wal-Mart and at Autozone. I have mainly seen these on Ford cars, so I'm not sure about a Mirage. Hope it helps.

How to remove the dash

Which part of the dash board are you trying to remove? Are you trying to get to the CD Player? If that's the area you are talking about its simple,
1) remove the ash tray first: Pull tray outwards and then press the lever that you seen inside the tray..the big silver thing.
2) Remove lighter switch.
3) Use a screwdriver to pry the SIDE-TOP part of the panel out. That's it. It will pop out.

I've done this on my car.

If its another part of the dash board, sorry for this reply.
