Yep, that's my opinion. I think the fuel pump is leaking pressure back into the tank. I've seen this many times before. Replace the fuel pump unless you find a leak elsewhere.

My 1995 grand cherokee takes a lot to start. turns over fine, but won't fire. checked fuel rail, no pressure. after trying 15 times or so, it will start and run just fine. starts right back up unl

Your Jeep has what's known as the delayed start, no check engine light problem. The Jeep will not start until the check engine light comes on, on the dashboard. Next time it cranks but will not start, look at the dashboard to see if the check engine light is illuminated. If it's not lit up, then your Jeep does have that problem and your Jeep ecu is in need of repair or replacement. There are components inside the ecu that are going bad and will continue to get worse, eventually leading to a permanent no start condition. There are ecu repair services and replacement ecus on ebay.

Will not start has fire new distrubter and spark plugs, wires could it be computer all points there

Try pouring a little starting fluid or fuel into the throttle body and see if it will fire a few times--if yes, then check the fuel system. Does the fuel pump run for a moment or two, then shut off when you turn the key to on (good!)? The fuel filter is a common problem. At this point, does the check engine light come on? If so, rent a scanner and read out any codes which should at least point to the general problem area. Don't continue to replace parts until it runs--that can get very expensive. If the computer has problems, the scan should reveal that condition. Hope this helps!

Starts when cold when i turn off engine vehicle recieves no fire

most likely the module that goes inside of your distributor is bad.i had the same thing happen to me on my astro van i owned a few years ago.i would drive it for a while then shut it off.it would not start until it completely cooled down, then it would start back up right away.i replaced the module inside the distributor( which cost me about 45 dollars at the time)and the van never had that problem again.it would start up every time no matter how many times i turned it on or off.hope this info helps you.take care and good luck, manny

I have a 96 S-10 Blazer, Does not want to start

Replace the fuel filter to help the fuel pump, but it sounds like the fuel pump check valve has gone bad and your losing your fuel pressure to start the engine. Your going to have to keep priming the fuel system by turning the ignition key to the run position for 5 seconds 3 times before you try to start the engine. The only fix for this is to replace the fuel pump, and that is costly. Good luck and take note: the fuel pump has a life time of around 150,000 miles and anything past that is borrowed time.

1984 Rabit loses power while going up an incline

Fuel pump and injectors are plugged. Any time a car sets with gas in it the gas separates and will varnish the fuel pump and injectors and possibly cause a fire just like a Vette I had to work on had the same problem. That means new fuel pump and filter and possibly injectors.

1995 toyota camry-stalling out when driving

You do not have to replace the fuel pump at a specific mileage.
I hate to speculate without physically inspecting the vehicle, but, my best solution here & now may be the fuel pump. Now, I would not go out & buy one before you had proper diagnosis. Here is one test, but you will need to have to experience the stall again, and then test to see if you have fuel pressure at the injectors. If you have no fuel pressure, replace the pump. Fuel filter issues do not "come & go", they stay, and your car would not run properly. Also, a fuel pump failure will not set a computer code on this particular model vehicle. Hope this helps..
