It may be complicated, depending which radio you have. UC1 or US9, US8. The owners manual should have all the info you need. You do have the radio code, right? If not...you will need to visit the dealer. If you have the code, the radio must be on for 1 hour and then it will unlock when it reads - - - - , and you can put the code in. Its not your girlfriends fault. ; )

Nothing. Only the dealer keeps up with the codes I believe. If you are able to remove the unit, record the info on the rear. Once in hand, give the dealer a call, they should be able to take care of you over the phone.

The codes are user derived, and 4 digits. Like a debit card. You make up your own code from 0 to 9.

2005 Saturn Ion 2.2. Where do I find my ECU module number on my Saturn Ion 2005 control board.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

You can't just replace it because it need programming for that car. It have to be programmed with the VIN Number and the mileage. There are very few reasons that you would ever change an ECU. The number is on a paper sticker on the outside.

I just had my oil changed on my 2005 Saturn ION and now i get the 'chng oil' alert. what should i do?

  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. There is no need to start the caricon1.png.

Press the button located in the center of the instrument cluster ONCE. The display should now read "OIL LIFE" instead of vehicleicon1.png mileage.

My 2003 Saturn Ion remote trunk release won't

Check to make sure the button on the trunk latch is turned from manual unlock...they made that feature so only the key will work to open the trunk that way if someone breaks in the front of your car they can't hit the trunk release and get into the trunk...may be the same thing for your remote. Hope that helps.

dealerships are usually very helpful with pulling the codes and unlocking it. Catch them on a good day and they may do if for free. if not they usually charged about $60..

I have a Saturn Ion 2006 - twice in 10 days the car won't start, the dash lights work and the radio too - but the engine doesn't even try to turn over...Saturn of Spokane has told me the car alarm needs...

Even if the battery is low or has weak connections, there is enough power for accessories but not enough to turn the motor over. A bad solenoid will also cause this

    2005 saturn ion

I am not a mechanic and have had no problems with my 2005 Ion-2 but at msn/autos I see that these can exhibit a starting problem because of the ignition switch which they recommend replacing. The part is around $40 & the labor is 1 hr.
