Assuming you have power seats, if you don't intend to change the seating position once you set it, you can simply reach under the seat from the back and unplug the motors, or remove the fuse associated with the power seats.

Is there a picture of the fuse box diagram somewhere for a 1989 Mercedes 300 E? I dont have the names of the fuse box to find the fuse for disconnecting the seat belt . light keeps coming on when car is...

Go onto scribd.com and register (for free) and type in mercedes 300 e and look at the 2nd one in line. Yours is a 124 body and the owner's manual is labeled 200, 230, 260, 300. On page 86 it has a list of fuses and their location. I hope this helps. I've worked on Mercedes for years and I know how hard it can be to retrieve info on these cars. Let me know if you need anything else.

All the gauges stopped working on a 1989 mercedes 300sel and I suspect a relay that is bussing. The part # is 201-821-00-47. The relay is 3 1nches long by 1 1/4 in wide by 2 1/4 in tall.

happened to me the same thing taday on a 1988 190E, just noticed that brake lamps and reverse lamps didn´t work either, fuse was OK but I replaced it anyway and now everything is working fine

Passenger seat back will not move either direction

Motor on the seat may have gone out, contacts in switch got dirty or worn, or assembly reached limit and stuck. Try sitting in it pushing back hard and adjust. If not youll need to replace switch,b take seat apart to fix or replace.
